With a service temperature range of 0°C to 90°C, Petrokem BP Epoxy Sealer ART® has a high mechanical strength typical of epoxy compounds, and is resistant to oils, greases, solvents, salts, mild acids, and alkalis, without shrinking during curing. Widely used in Sri Lanka for jewellery making and the manufacture of epoxy river tables, Petrokem BP Epoxy Sealer ART® is the ideal product for a range of applications
Product Application
-
- Petrokem BP® Epoxy Sealer ART is a two Component Epoxy system. Mix thoroughly 2 volumes of BP® Epoxy Sealer ART Resin & 1 volume of BP® Epoxy Sealer ART Hardener. 5 mins of thorough mixing is recommended. Keep the amount of air entrapped to a minimum while stirring. Application should be finished before 20 – 30 minutes.
- IF air is entrapped, Use a heat gun/dryer and apply minimally over the casted surface to remove air bubbles.
- Mixing colors to BP sealer ART is possible. Make sure the appropriate amount of resin is obtained (keep track of the resin ratio, Failure to do this might result in product bonding issues) Mix the pigment/dye into the resin component only. Please note only a small % of pigments or colour is needed. Appropriate amount should be decided by the consumer. Use Petrokem BPS Pigments for best results.
- For River Table/Epoxy table projects, Please make sure the wood used is appropriately dried. If the wood is not dried it will not be possible to stop air bubble rising. If not sure use BP Sealer Art as primer sealer by applying the product to the contact surfaces by brush.
- The maximum casting thickness for large epoxy pours is 4 mm at any given time. If the thickness required is more than 4 mm, wait for at least 1 hour between pours. Please note for large scale epoxy pours ensure good ventilation and a stable temperature environment.
- Use Petrokem DBond or any silicon mould release agent to easily remove the epoxy mould. If not used, the casted epoxy might be damaged when removing the mould.
- The casted epoxy surface can be polished further by using Petrokem B-Cut Super and a high gloss buffing pad. Please note that you can only polish using a buffing machine.
Please Read BP Sealer ART Epoxy Table user Guide (001ETH) for River table projects
